About Phoarmats

Phoarmats is a term that tries to explain what would happen to TV if you applied the Open Source methodology that Redhat has applied to software.

The term Phoarmats follows a naming convention that Phishing and Pharming use, namely, capturing intellegence that is perceived as owned, yet is evidently free to aquire and manipulate.

This work started of in November 2005 with Rob Myers. The original notes can be found here Open Broadcasting. You may want to also see Open International Big Brother for an example of this model in operation.

There is also a Phoarmats article under development which will be posted on the Zero Influnence blog in due course. The Phoarmats article page is the best place to leave comments on the project as whole. I will be openning up a forums dedicated to the Phoarmats documentary once it has been released.
